WHAT TO EXPECT
Stone Church is located in the heart of Willow Glen, at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Clark Way, with the main entrance to the church’s sanctuary located on Clark.
We are a true neighborhood church, we have very limited on-site parking, and you are encouraged to park on the streets near the church on either side of Lincoln Avenue. Please be careful and respectful of our neighbors when you park, avoiding blocking streets or driveways.
At the heart of Stone Church are our Sunday morning gatherings for Worship and Education. We gather every Sunday at 9:30 AM for worship.
We also offer a nursery for younger children.
If you need help finding where to go, just ask a friendly usher, and you’ll be directed to the right place.
Come as you are! On Sundays at Stone, you can expect to see people dressed in everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a coat and tie. All are welcome!
During worship, you can expect:
- An instrumental prelude
- Hymns both traditional and modern, typically taken from Glory To God: The Presbyterian Hymnal
- Prayers of Adoration, Confession, and Intercession
- The Passing of the Peace and an opportunity to greet those around you
- Hearing scripture from the Old and New Testaments
- An Inspiring sermon that challenges us to live into our faith
- Choral and instrumental music
- The celebration of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and weekly during Lent and Advent
Children and youth are a key part of the Stone Church community. Depending on the Sunday, we may offer
- A children’s sermon during worship.
- Children or youth helping lead the congregation as a liturgist or choir member.
- Educational opportunities for children during part of worship
- Youth fellowship on Sunday afternoons
For more details on our children’s program, please visit this page.
We offer ASL interpretation of all Sunday worship services and many other programs. We also welcome you to join us for Worship via Zoom or Facebook.
Following Worship, join us for a time of fellowship, with coffee and treats, in our social hall next to the Sanctuary, and take the time to meet other members of the Stone community.
Most Sundays, following fellowship, at 11 AM there’s an adult educational opportunity available, which can range from a speaker on current affairs to teaching on scripture to a hymn sing!
