Small Child Care at Stone Church

About our Nursery

Our Nursery is located immediately adjacent to the Sanctuary, just past the front door. It is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youngest children of our church. It is a free play environment. We encourage children to explore and enjoy toys and books at their leisure and offer them comfort and love when they don't feel up to playing.

There are always 2 childcare providers in the Nursery during Sunday service. Parents are welcome to stay with their child or leave them for the duration of the service.

The Nursery is open at 9:15am on Sunday mornings for drop off and children should be picked up promptly after service. Childcare is offered during adult bible study and other after service meetings or activities after Sunday service. Please notify the childcare provider if your child is staying in the Nursery during these times.

Childcare can also be provided for other church functions with at least 2 weeks notice. Please notify the Nursery Supervisor if such service is needed.

During church service, the Nursery is open for children age 0-3 years. Upon their 4th birthday, children will be enrolled in and join the church school. (Nursery staff can assist in this transition if you have questions.) No child over 4 years old will be permitted in the Nursery during church service as the Nursery is not equipped for this age.

During other church meetings, activities or functions, with advanced notice, the Nursery welcomes children age 0-10 for an age appropriate movie. Functions occurring after Sunday service do not need advanced notice, just notice before or immediately following the service.

Please contact the office if you have any questions.

A Few Details To Get You Started

We will ask you to fill out an emergency card for your child in order for them to be cared for in the Nursery. Please also keep its information up to date.

When you drop off your child, please fill in the sign in sheet completely. Only the drop off person or another designated adult may pick up your child.

Please do not use the Nursery when your child is not well. (That includes colds, runny noses and the like.)

Please notify caregivers of any allergies, special needs or instructions for your child. We offer snacks during service, so need to know what your child can (or can not) eat and drink.

Please provide a bottle and/or sippy cup with preferred drink, diapers and security items such as a blanket or pacifier as needed. Please label all items clearly.

We want to make Stone Church Nursery a pleasant, safe place your child wants to be. Thank you for your help in making this happen.

Our Nursery Staff

Kim M

Kim Moore, Nursery Supervisor (photo on left) tells us: "I am excited and thrilled to be working with our youngest little ones, at Stone Church of Willow Glen. I love babies and toddlers, and children, of all ages. I have worked with children for over 30 years. As a teenager, I was an Assistant, in children's church, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, here in San Jose. Then I moved to Washington State with my family. I was on paid staff, for childcare, during bible studies and meetings. I taught a class, for Preschoolers, called Mission Friends. I taught Sunday school for two year olds. I also taught Sunday school for 1st-2nd graders, and 3rd-4th graders.

Then, in 2000, I moved back to San Jose. From 2000-2004 I attended Foxworthy Baptist church. I helped with 3rd-6th grade girls, in AWANA, a bible class for children. I also taught 1st and 2nd graders, in Sunday school. 2005-2014, I attended Family Community Church. There, I helped in children's church, age 6-11. Then, I was the main 4 year old teacher, with a class of 20-30. Then, I helped in the infant and toddler room. I was also on paid staff, during bible studies and meetings. I believe that children are our future. I'm a mother of three grown children. I have six Grandchildren. I am currently working as a Nanny, here in Willow Glen. I have also worked as a phlebotomist, for 30 years. I have also worked, as a caregiver, for an elderly lady, with Alzheimer's. I love the color blue. I love the beach. I enjoy crafts and board games, and baking. I am available for childcare, for any age, evenings and weekends."
